Tempt-Your-Tummy Tuesday: Fish Tacos!!

We used to LOVE the fish tacos from Taco Del Mar, , I was less than impressed with what they pass off as fish, and really, HOMEMADE.

You can use any kind of fish you like, but we really love the breaded Tilapia from Costco.

Tortilla – flour or corn, size of your choosing

Finely shredded Lettuce or Cabbage (Mom prefers cabbage, everyone else, lettuce – or not at all)

Shredded Cheese

Salsa/Pico d’gallo

And drumroll please – White Sauce!!! Fish Tacos are not complete without this wondrous addition.

White Sauce for Fish Tacos (original here)

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ½-1 jalapeno pepper, seeds removed if you want, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced capers (optional but really adds to the flavor)
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill weed
  • ½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients at least 1 hour before serving. Refrigerate to combine flavors. Use on Tacos, burritos, or anything else you want!!!
