Another season of baseball in the books. I had wondered last year if Ryan would continue playing… but he played Fall ball with a new team and it was really great. Neat coach, good kids, good parents.
So he signed up for another season this year. And it was good.
He branched out from being wholly focused on pitching to absolutely loving being a catcher and playing first base. Catching was his favorite. This boy doesn’t mind pressure, so he does great with those plays-at-the-plate where the ball is coming at him and so is the runner… and he got a handful of them out!
His team made 3rd in their division on the day before we left for our big trip (more on that coming). It was a disappointing loss cause they didn’t really play like they usually did, but it was a great season and Ryan learned a lot. I am pretty sure we have a life-long baseball player on our hands.
