We went to Wilcox Farms the other day on a field trip. I need to do this more often – and now that Manda is potty trained, trips like this are much easier!
Wilcox Farms only does Eggs now, so we were disappointed that there weren’t any cows to be seen.
Mostly it was museums and cool old dairy delivery trucks -
A massive hoard of ladybugs…
Such BEAUTIFUL views…
The silver buildings you see in the background are their chicken houses. They have 6 houses that hold between 55 and 65,000 chickens EACH. OH MY GOODNESS. That is unimaginable. They do not allow visitors there to prevent any sort of disease near the chickens. They have some sort of Humane Society certification for how clean and humane their houses are.
As we were walking out to see these views, there were a number of horses that were privately owned by the Wilcox family. One of them came right up to us and just soaked up the attention. Boy, he was BEAUTIFUL.
It was a great day!
