Glacier Day 1! 6.19.15

So much for leaving at 8. We all slept in, and then, we had the first casualty of the trip – Ryan used a sharp knife to cut a bagel and missed. Blood EVERYWHERE. But it was only a flesh wound – whew – I wasn’t looking forward to stitches and an unknown Urgent Care or hospital. Neither was Ryan.

But we finally got on the road… and no one was disappointed. The first destination was Going-to-the-Sun Road. It was the first day of the season that the whole road was open from west to east, and we expected crowds and traffic. We experienced neither. It was a wonderful day to experience God’s beautiful creation!

And to celebrate when we got home, I made homemade cookies in this imperfect gas oven. They came out perfectly due to some experimenting and an oven stone (thanks Michelle!).  YUM!

We can’t claim any sort of hardship on this trip after this photo… Smile
