Mothers Day & Dedication Day

We dedicated Amanda today at church - a special day for this mom (of FOUR!!!!). After all we have been through in this process of Amanda coming to be in our family, it is very special to stand up there and remember all God has done for us! Why do I even wear makeup anymore? All I do is cry it off - Erica used to ask me "Mommy, are you going to cry again?" She doesn't even bother to ask anymore. I just stand there with tears streaming down my face and she stands there and looks up at me. I wonder what she is thinking...

Someone came up to us after dedication and said "Dolls aren't allowed in church..." Amanda is still just this tiny version of a person. It is especially noticeable when she is awake - she is so alert and looking around. People keep asking when we will let others hold her (in church), but we are going to wait a while. She just can't get exposed to anything - she just doesn't have the reserve to take on anything. Soon she will be running around - this is a season.

We had Mothers Day dinner at our house - Clyde & Orrene came over too but we never took a picture of all of us. We talked about it but it got too crazy (we should be used to that by now) and never got around to it. But Orrene took a picture of the 3 generations of us girls...
