Fun Times with The Crew

Last Sunday, we had to run to Centralia to pick up some homeschool books I was buying from another homeschooling family, so we grabbed some food and headed down there directly after church.

After we picked them up, we headed back toward home, which takes us right by Great Wolf Lodge – and we had to stop for a look!

Fortunately, I had secretively packed all the necessary supplies AND made a reservation – so we stayed the night! A homeschooling friend had put together a group package that we participated in, so we got in at less than half price. Good thing too, cause it is ridiculously expensive otherwise.

It was a surprise for the kids, and we had a blast!!

Ok, there is NO hope of staying dry in the water park. There is water spraying everywhere, and you never know when you will get dumped on by some conniving child with a bucket from above. Or some spicket sprays you out of nowhere. I was thankful for my waterproof camera – made it fun to take pictures. They are crappy pictures, but memories captured nevertheless. (Sarah – will you show me how to use this dumb camera??)

I don’t think Nate stopped moving the whole day. Well, by the evening he was wearing down – we would see him standing in one place, totally zoning out. He played HARD!

Manda had such a great time. She squealed and splashed and went down waterslides and swam – she was practically fearless. And then she crashed… over two hours completely OUT.

The two older kids could go down the biggest waterslide “The Howling Tornado” and even though it totally freaked Ryan out the first time, he did it a couple more times and had a blast!

Mandy was not happy that we were not going back to our “new house” – a.k.a. the hotel room – and was quite ticked that we were going home. Even though we had to check out at 11, you are allowed to stay in the waterpark until it closes that day – 9 pm! We did not plan to close the place down, but we did.

Ok – totally fun and worth going again (but only at the group rate… geez.)
