Grandpa and Grandma Slemmer left last weekend for their annual snowbirding to Arizona (see here and here)- the kids have all mourned their leaving - Erica more than the rest. I can understand - I remember crying when my grandparents would leave - but I only got to see them once every other year or so!!! So from where I see it, Erica has it great with grandparents here 1/2 the year and the other set only 3 hours away and we see them every couple of months. But she was crying the other day "my closest relatives are (sobbing) THREE HOURS AWAY (more sobbing)!" I just held her and smiled to myself... I am thankful she has two sets of wonderful grandparents who love her... THAT is a blessing!

Off to fairer weather...
